Public urban spaces are popping up all over the world. People might walk through these spaces, have lunch there, or simply wait for a bus or taxi. There is high demand for innovative urban fixtures to place in these spaces and that was the challenge with this project. What should be placed in these locations? What will be both beautiful and durable? What's the thing that will catch the eye of someone walking by?
This eleven week project focused around form, utility, and manufacturing. This project was done in partnership with Architectural Elements, which is a well known Fabricator in Bellingham, WA. They provided critique on manufacturability and market appeal of proposed designs.
